Driver Amplifier MMIC for Mixer LO Chains

The CMD158P3 is a broadband driver amplifier ideally suited for mixer LO chains, passive multipliers, and medium power applications. It covers 6 to 14 GHz and delivers 20 dB of gain with +20 dBm of saturated power while requiring a single +5 V supply @ 95 mA. Housed in a RoHs-compliant, Pb-free 3x3 mm QFN plastic package, the CMD158P3 offers high performance in a small footprint. The input and output ports are DC blocked, and the amplifier does not require any off-chip tuning components.

The CMD158P3 is the perfect alternative to costly hybrid amplifiers and is ideally suited for EW and communications systems where small size and low power consumption are needed, such as point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, VSAT, LO driver amplifier, and military EW applications.

VVA MMIC Offers Wideband Performance and Low Insertion Loss

The CMD172 is a Voltage-Variable Attenuator (VVA) in die form operating from 18 to 40 GHz.

Fabricated in GaAs with a small footprint, the CMD172 is a wideband absorptive VVA die that uses a single DC control voltage between -3V and 0V to vary the RF signal level over a 37 dB dynamic range. The insertion loss of the CMD172 is only 1.6 dB. The GaAs MMIC also offers full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection.

Ideal applications for the CMD172 include point-to-point and VSAT radio systems, microwave sensors, test instrumentation, and military and space applications.

6-10 GHz I/Q Mixer Offers Low Conversion Loss and High Image Rejection

The CMD182C4 6-10 GHz I/Q Mixer from Custom MMIC offers Low Conversion Loss and High Image Rejection. When paired with an external IF hybrid, the CMD182C4 can be used as either an image reject mixer or single sideband modulator, with 5.5 dB of conversion loss and 30 dB of image rejection/sideband suppression, while supporting an IF bandwidth of DC to 3.5 GHz. In addition, the CMD182C4 features very low LO to RF leakage of -35 dBm and an input P1dB of +9 dBm.

A much smaller alternative to higher-cost, hybrid image-reject mixers and single-sideband upconverter assemblies, this exciting new product is ideal for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and digital radios as well as VSAT terminals. The CMD182C4 is housed in a leadless, RoHs-compliant (Pb-free) 4x4 mm SMT package.

5 to 11 GHz Low Noise Amplifier MMIC Features 1.3 dB Noise Figure

The CMD132P3 offers an ultra-low noise figure of 1.3 dB, delivers greater than 20 dB of gain across the entire bandwidth, and has a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +10 dBm.

The CMD132P3, which is housed in a RoHS-compliant, 3x3 mm QFN plastic surface mount package, requires a single supply voltage of +3.6 V at 30 mA. Ideal for microwave radios and C- and X-band applications where small size and low power consumption are needed, the CMD132P3 is also suitable for point-to-point radios, point-to-multipoint radios, military and space applications, and test instrumentation. The 50 ohm matched design of the CMD132P3 amplifier does not require any external components aside from the usual bypass capacitors.
