Low Loss, High Isolation SPST MMIC Switch Covers DC to 20 GHz

The CMD204C3 is a DC to 20 GHz single-pole, single-throw (SPST) MMIC switch. It's also available in die form (CMD204). The CMD204C3 SPST, at 10 GHz, features a low insertion loss of less than 1 dB, a high-isolation of 50 dB, and a 0.1 dB compression point of +25 dBm. At 20 GHz, the insertion loss is 1.2 dB, the isolation is 40 dB, and the 0.1 dB compression point is +24 dBm. The CMD204C3 is terminated on both RF ports and is therefore fully reciprocal. The CMD204C3 is controlled by complementary logic levels of 0 / -5 V, and requires no additional bias supply.

Ideal applications for the CMD204C3 include microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military end-use.

Broadband 20 GHz GaN Amplifier Offers Flat Gain

The CMD184 amplifier die offers an ultra-wide bandwidth of 0.5 to 20 GHz, an output 1 dB compression point of greater than +34 dBm, and flat gain of 13 dB. The CMD184 is Custom MMIC’s first released standard product fabricated on GaN.

The CMD184 requires an off-chip bias tee for proper operation. The die offers full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection.

Ideal applications for the CMD184 are microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military and space.

DC to 20 GHz SP4T Non-reflective Switch Offers Low Insertion Loss of 2.4 dB

The CMD203C4 is a DC to 20 GHz single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) MMIC switch housed in a leadless 4 x 4 mm ceramic package. The CMD203C4 is the latest control device added by Custom MMIC to its growing library of standard products.

The CMD203C4 features a low insertion loss of 2.4 dB and high isolation of 40 dB at 10 GHz. The switch also includes an integrated binary decoder circuit that only requires two logic inputs to control the four output state. Switch control is accomplished with voltage logic levels of 0 / -5 V, with the logic circuitry consuming less than 1 mA of DC current. The SP4T switch is housed in a Pb-free RoHs-compliant 4 x 4 mm surface mount package.

Ideal applications for this new switch includes microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military end-use.

16-26 GHz Double-Balanced Fundamental Mixer Offers High Isolation

The CMD179 is a general purpose, double-balanced GaAs mixer that can be used for up- and down-converting applications between 16 and 26 GHz. The mixer, which offers conversion loss of 7 dB, an LO to RF isolation of greater than 40 dB, an IF bandwidth of 8 GHz, and an input IP3 of +18 dBm, is ideally suited for hybrid assemblies given its small die size of 0.9 mm^2.

A key advantage of the CMD179 is the very high suppression of spurious products due to the ultra small, optimized balun structures. The mixer can operate with an LO drive level as low as +9 dBm, though the linearity and spur suppression will improve with increased drive. Finally, two CMD179s can easily be configured as an image reject mixer or single sideband modulator with external hybrids and power splitters.

Ideal applications for the CMD179 are point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, test equipment, sensors, and military end-use.

Distributed Amplifier Delivers Ultra-Wideband Performance, High Output Power up to 20 GHz

The CMD201 is a new DC-20 GHz distributed MMIC power amplifier in die form which delivers greater than 20 dB of gain from DC to 20 GHz, with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +29 dBm and an output IP3 of +38 dBm at 10 GHz.

This new distributed power amplifier offers ultra-wideband performance, high linearity, high output power, excellent return losses, and a small die size. An off-chip bias network is required for operation.

Ideal applications for the CMD201 are microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, military and space, and fiber optics.
