Senior MMIC Design Engineer

Custom MMIC Design Services (CMDS), a leading independent microwave and millimeter wave circuit design center, seeks an experienced Senior MMIC design engineer to join our design team. The candidate should have a strong background in high frequency integrated circuit design (especially above 5 GHz) using a variety of GaAs and GaN semiconductor processes including, but not limited to: MESFET, PHEMT, mHEMT, and HBT. The candidate must be able to handle all aspects of circuit design, from specification review to simulation, layout, and prototype testing. Experience in amplifiers (low noise, drive, power), mixers, switches, phase shifters, and/or attenuators is required. This position requires significant independent work with minimal supervision. Green Card or US Citizenship is required.

Experience, Skills and Education Required: 

10 years of RF Microwave and Millimeterwave MMIC product development with strong technical skills and BSEE degree (MSEE preferred) are required. Additional requirements are: 

  • Strong fundamentals in electronics and circuit design: DC through millimeter wave applications 
  • Experience in RF circuit design: switches, amplifiers, converters, phase shifters
  • Experience with the following software tools: ADS, Matlab, Sonnet, TAS, Excel
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with high frequency test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, synthesized signal sources, and wafer probers


 

Experienced RF/Microwave Applications Engineer:

Custom MMIC is seeking an experienced RF and Microwave Applications Engineer to join our growing team.

Experience, Skills and Education Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Able to communicate clearly and articulate design related concepts with customers
  • A detailed understanding of MMICs and their application(s)
  • Experience with industry standard modeling simulation tools (Keysight Genesys, RF toolkit, etc.)
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Able to write and/or contribute to compelling technical articles, application notes as part of their standard deliverables
  • Experience using RF/Microwave test equipment to characterize components and/or assemblies
  • Able to travel approximately 25% of the time to conduct customer visits domestically and internationally
  • Possess a valid and current United States passport
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry is a plus
